In this post, I will about Windows Command Line (CMD) and Mac OS Terminal Navigation Commands. Knowledge of CMD/Terminal commands may be needed for using command line interfaces (CLI) of applications where Graphical User Interface is missing, or when CLI provides a faster/easier way to perform a task. Let’s see some of the commands. It’s the command line that returns the MAC address with the list of network protocols associated with each address for all network adapters from either local or remote computer. It can be useful either when you want to enter the MAC address into a network analyzer or when you need to know what protocols are currently in use on each network. The first line shows the last time you logged into your Mac via the command line; that’s the current time, when you’re using Terminal. The second line is the prompt, and while it can change.

A command prompt is a non-graphical interface that allows you tointeract with your operating system. At the command prompt, you entercommands by typing their names followed by options and arguments. Mostmodern computers use a graphical user interface (GUI),which allows users to more intuitively access programs anddocuments. However, some programs and commands are still onlyavailable only through a command prompt. To access the command prompt,follow the instructions appropriate to your operating system.


To access the command prompt in Windows, in Windows 7, click theStart button and enter cmd. In other versions,from the Start menu, select Run... and thenenter cmd.
